Sound Creatures are a multi-sensory toy, especially for disabled children. The set contains four basic pieces correspond to the nature like water, stone, air and wood, made by different natural materials combined with their meaning.
Each piece has its own sound depending on children move.
Every two connected pieces give another sound which is a result of them. In addition, there are some extra pieces made in 3D print technology with geometrical form, which give „human” sound only when compare with basic ones.
Disabled children from special-needs school are often not so well integrated with each other as their colleagues from traditional, primary schools.
Wheelchairs, verbal and non-verbal communication problems cause trouble making friends. Sitting in the corners or by the walls during the pause also not make it easier.
Their ability to discover the World and Nature by sensual experience is very limited.
Based on our observation and with strong help from the psychologists and pedagogies we designed a toy, that could do both: integrate the children and also give them a chance to explore the World and Nature by sound effects, structure, softness and more.
